Why Daxxify?

Daxxify: A Revolutionary Alternative to Botox

If you’re considering your first botulinum toxin treatment, you may have heard of Botox as the go-to option for reducing wrinkles and fine lines. However, there’s a new player in town that’s gaining popularity among dermatologists and patients alike: Daxxify.

So, what is Daxxify, and how is it different from Botox?

Daxxify is a botulinum toxin injectable that works similarly to Botox but with a few key differences. First, Daxxify is formulated with smaller molecules, which allows for more precise injection and targeted treatment. This means that your dermatologist can better control the amount of Daxxify used and avoid over-injecting certain areas, leading to a more natural-looking result.

Another advantage of Daxxify is that it works faster than Botox. While Botox can take up to a week to fully take effect, Daxxify begins working within 24 hours, with peak results seen at around 48 hours. This means that you can see the effects of Daxxify sooner and get back to your daily routine without waiting for the results to kick in.

In addition, Daxxify has a longer-lasting effect than Botox. While Botox typically lasts for three to four months, Daxxify can last up to six months, which means fewer trips to the dermatologist for touch-ups.

But perhaps the most significant advantage of Daxxify is that it’s a more natural-looking treatment than Botox. Because of its smaller molecules, Daxxify can be injected more superficially, which leads to a softer, more natural appearance. This is especially important for first-time botulinum toxin users who may be worried about looking “frozen” or overdone.

Overall, Daxxify is a revolutionary alternative to Botox that offers several advantages for those having their first botulinum toxin treatment. With faster results, longer-lasting effects, and a more natural appearance, Daxxify is quickly becoming the preferred option for those seeking a youthful, refreshed look. Consult with your dermatologist to see if Daxxify is the right choice for you.

How MicroBotox is a Game Changer!

Why, you ask. MicroBotox a term coined by Singapore Plastic Surgeon W Wu in 2001 has numerous benefits! I’m gonna describe the highlights for you.

MicroBotox reduces pores. MicroBotox has been shown in numerous studies to decrease overall pore number and pore density. This gives skin an overall more luminous appearance and glow.

MicroBotox reduces redness, flushing, including redness from rosacea. This gives an overall more even complexion.

MicroBotox aids fine lines and laxity of the face and neck. Can reduce jowling, neck banding, and give an overall lift to the face and neck. Specific injection protocols exist to deliver these results. Schedule a consult to see if this is a treatment for you either alone or in combination with an energy based treatment.
It can be a game changer for difficult skin texture, especially areas like the chin. Ideally treated with both standard and MicroBotox for the homerun.

But wait there’s more, MicroBotox is used to reduce scarring formation following surgery and to aid in treatment of existing scars, even keloid scars. MicroBotox is also used to reduce sweating and oil production.

I’m excited to offer this treatment for you.

So in order to make it happen (because that’s what we do, right!?), here’s what I need you to do:

Khloe Kardashian Official Spokesperson For Kybella

Did you know Khloe Kardashian will be the official spokesperson for the brand new Kybella injectable as part of its “Chin Up” campaign?

Reality star Khloé Kardashian recently kicked off a new movement that encourages people not to let the things that bother them get in their way. The Live Chin Up campaign, which Khloé is working on in partnership with Allergan, is designed to encourage people to overcome things in their lives that bother them, by focusing on goals, not worrying about things that are outside of their control, and living each day with a smile and positive outlook.

Khloé kicked off the Live Chin Up Campaign by leading a panel of experts in dermatology to discuss the ways in which the appearance of double chins (submental fullness) can be improved. Kybella, a procedure offered here at Procerus Skin Care, played a big part in the discussion since it is the only FDA-approved, non-surgical and injectable treatment for removing excess chin fat.

Everything You Need to Know About Kybella

Fat underneath the chin (submental fat) can be stubborn, not responding to diet and exercise. You keep switching diets, hoping reducing your carb intake will change the story. As good as exercises may be, they may not be good enough, especially when you want to lose fat fast. Over the years, aesthetic medicines and injectables have helped remedy several cases of submental fullness from excess submental fat.

Kybella is one of those injectables that is fast gaining popularity. Although Kybella is specifically indicated for submental fat, how can you be sure it will make an excellent choice for you? This review will take you through everything you need to know about the fat removal procedure.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is a non-surgical fat reduction procedure used for submental fat. The injection technique uses deoxycholic acid without the need for any incisions. The body also produces this acid to contain fat production. Kybella fat treatment technique involves injecting the synthetic form of this acid into the fat areas, mostly under the chin. With the alarming increase in submental fullness from submental fat issues in the United States, this FDA-approved procedure is fast gaining popularity. If you want to have an age-defying chin appearance, you may want to consider this injectable technique.

How Does Kybella Work?

Kybella kills fat cells in the body using the synthetic form of deoxycholic acid. Dermatological research has proven the acid to have edge-cutting effects in destroying excess body fat cells. After injecting deoxycholic acid into the fat area, it destroys fat cells responsible for fat storage.

There are no hard and fast rules to the number of Kybella treatment sessions required. Depending on your condition, your healthcare administrator may recommend multiple sessions. But usually, not more than one session monthly.

Benefits of Using Kybella

Here are some of the benefits you can derive from the injectable treatment procedure.

  • No need for any incision or sutures
  • Quick action (Results are usually evident after the first treatment session)
  • Lasting results on the jawline
  • Maintenance injections are not required
  • Comparatively less painful

Side Effects of Kybella

As with every other treatment technique, Kybella may result in any following.

  • Nerve injury (which may cause uneven smile)
  • Swelling
  • Problems in the injection area (hair loss, hematoma, ulcers, necrosis)

Who Should Use Kybella?

Are you worried about localized fat on your chin, and dieting and exercises seem not to help? Is your skin quality good? If you answered “Yes” to both, Kybella might be the perfect match for the fat. If you doubt the credibility of the treatment option, Khloe Kardashian is both a proud fan and ambassador of Kybella.

Kybella Before and After

With the proper treatment procedure, Kybella can give you that age-defying look that you desire. Since it doesn’t require any surgeries, the side effects are usually minimal. Ready for your next Kybella session, get in touch with our team at Procerus Skin Care. We have an innovative approach to skin and body care.

Everything You Should Know About Secret RF and Morpheus 8

Everything You Should Know About Secret RF and Morpheus 8

Looking for an effective way to get rid of the signs of aging and other skin defects? Most of these problems can be traced to declining collagen production. Unfortunately, consuming or applying collagen topically cannot prompt collagen production in the skin. This is where radiofrequency micro-needling comes in. It is among the most effective solutions out there for skin rejuvenation in as few as 3-4 sessions.

What is Radiofrequency micro-needling?

Radiofrequency micro-needling is a cosmetic procedure that combines two of the most advanced aesthetic technologies – micro-needling, also known as collagen induction technology and radiofrequency a powerful mode of skin tightening. Radiofrequency (RF) micro-needling is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that delivers the collagen-boosting effects of micro-needling while silmutaneously adding the skin tightening effects of radiofrequency technology.

In essence, this procedure harnesses radiofrequency waves to produce heat that penetrates targeted layers of your skin to encourage natural collagen and elastin production. This treatment has proven to be effective in improving the appearance of the skin and restoring a youthful glow. The multilayered treatment is typically customized to address the skin type and specific concerns of every patient.

How does radiofrequency micro needling work?

Radiofrequency micro-needling is similar to conventional micro needling in that it involves the use of small needles to create punctures on the top layer of the skin. The only difference is that in RF micro-needling, the needles deliver RF energy deep into the dermis to add to the impact of micro-needling. It is a safe and highly effective.

During the procedure, your doctor will cleanse your face to get rid of impurities and apply a topical anesthetic cream to the target area. The micro-needling device with fine needles is inserted into the skin, and the tip of the needle introduces radiofrequency waves into the targeted areas of the skin.

The entire procedure takes just about 45 minutes, and you can resume your daily activities immediately. You might experience redness or swelling after the procedure, but it should subside in approximately 48 hours. Many people see some results immediately, but the results from the induction or reorganized collagen and elastin take a minimum of 4-6 weeks to develop and results will continue to improve. Best results are from a series of treatments.

Keep in mind that you might be asked to avoid alcohol, certain medications, or skincare products before the treatment to minimize the risk of complications. Many patients need 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve optimal results. Treatments can last 12-18 months.

Benefits of radiofrequency micro-needling

A radiofrequency micro-needling treatment:

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Promotes collagen and elasticity production
  • Shrinks large pores
  • Improves skin texture
  • Reduces the appearance of stretch marks
  • Skin tightening and firming
  • Smoothens lines on the upper lip skin
  • Diminished acne and surgical scars
  • No social downtime

Am I a good candidate?

You’re a good candidate for RF micro-needling if you have any of the following skin issues:

  • Face lines and wrinkles
  • Facial skin laxity
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks

If you’re looking for a cosmetic treatment that addresses several skin concerns fast and safely, RF micro-needling should be at the top of your list. Ready to get healthier, youthful-looking skin? Reach out to us today at Procerus Skin Care.

RADIESSE Treatment

Introduction

RADIESSE is a nontoxic, hypoallergenic, injectable cosmetic skin care treatment used to plump the moderate to severe wrinkled or folded specific areas of the face particularly nasolabial folds (lines which extend from the nose corners towards mouth corners).

RADIESSE is an FDA approved rejuvenating method for the face and dorsum of hand as well. It minimizes the prominence of tendons and bones at the back of hand and gives an overall fuller and younger look.

How it works?

One of the principle components of RADIESSE is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) which is a natural mineral found in the stones, bones and teeth. Calcium directly acts on the activation and proliferation of fibroblasts hence works as a collagen stimulator. Collagen and elastin both play a major role in the strengthening and elasticity of skin which was lost unfortunately by the aging process. This injection filled with gel works very well with the volume and treats every fold and wrinkle you wanted to. With the passage of time, CaHA allows the skin to produce more of its own fillers by stimulating naturally occurring collagen. The gel contains carbon, hydrogen and oxygen which help in creating a structure like connective tissue.

Benefits of RADIESSE

Non-Allergenic

Typically, when you are injected with dermal fillers you need to undergo an allergy test but with RADIESSE there is no risk of allergies because it is made up of naturally occurring elements in the body.

Quick and convenient

Its administration time is just a few minutes. It might take up to 15-30 minutes depending upon the face or hand areas you are targeting. Truly, there is no aesthetic service which is more convenient than RADIESSE.

Versatile

This anti-aging treatment is versatile in its nature because it not only plumps up face cheeks but re-contours the cheeks and irregular jaw-line completely by adding volume to the lines, folds and wrinkles. It treats acne scars, elevates nasolabial folds, tightens and lifts up the skin by removing deep lines so gives an overall younger look.

Minimal preparation and instant results

If you follow a healthy lifestyle (no smoking or drinking alcohol) and are not taking any blood thinning medicines like warfarin, so you are ready to go. You can start receiving treatment just after your first consultation. You can see the better results immediately after your first injection.

Downtime

RADIESSE Has No Downtime and Offers Long Lasting Results

Contrary to other aesthetic services, the best thing about RADIESSE is that it has completely no downtime. You can even return to your work at the same day of your treatment. There’s no straight laying for 72 hours or so. Any strenuous activity or physical exercise can be resumed just after the day when you got treatment. But even better than recovery time, “the long-lasting results” is the quality what attracts the patients more.

Results

Immediately after the treatment, results are visible. Obvious results appear after about 7 to 10 days. Dermatologists strongly recommend visiting for a touch-up treatment after seven months. Patients report that results last for 18 months, sometimes even long-term for up to two years without the repeat procedures.

Thermage FLX Treatment in Ann Arbor

Thermage FLX is a fourth-generation system for non-invasive skin tightening that is state-of-the-art. Thermage FLX maximizes the use of radiofrequency energy to tighten skin and produce new collagen. With its revolutionary system of energy delivery and comfort pulse technology, Thermage FLX gives better results and more comfort during treatment than earlier generations of Thermage as well as many other tightening devices on the market.

How does it work?

Skin thickness, strength, tone, and resilience are all affected by the loss of healthy collagen and elastic fibers. Over time, the young outlines shift, and skin laxity and drooping emerge. Thermage FLX delivers radiofrequency radiation to the skin’s deepest layers, stimulating the skin to manufacture new, healthy collagen in the months after treatment. In many individuals, Thermage FLX tightens the existing collagen, resulting in an instant improvement in contours and tissue tone.

Areas of treatment

Every treatment and technique that involves “lifting vectors” is used to enhance results because every individual has a unique collection of problem areas to be treated.

Upper Face – improve skin thickness and raise the brows subtly; we tailor the procedure to improve symmetry between the right and left brows.

Eyelids – enhance skin texture and provide a slight lift in certain patients.

Lower Face, Neck – tighten skin and soften the look of facial creases (nasal folds) to create a younger contour; enhance the jawline to create a more youthful contour

Improve the thickness and tightness of the skin on the body.

Who is a good candidate of Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is safe to use on any skin color because it employs radiofrequency energy. Patients with mild to moderate skin laxity and modest UV damage have the best results. The degree of skin laxity and photoaging are important factors in determining a person’s response. A person’s age is less crucial with Thermage FLX than with earlier devices; for example, a person over 65 years old with minor skin degradation and laxity may experience significant improvement.

Who should avoid Thermage FLX?

People who have an implantable pacemaker, an Automatic Implantable Cardioverter/Defibrillator (AICD), or any other implantable electronic device should not undergo Thermage FLX. Thermal FLX should never be used on a pregnant or nursing woman.

How it is performed?

Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency energy to target the deeper, collagen-rich layers of your skin during the procedure. One of Thermage FLX’s benefits is its unique mechanism, which vibrates and cools the skin’s surface layers to promote comfort throughout the operation. Throughout the therapy, the goal is to deliver heat energy that feels warm but never “too hot.” The Thermage FLX device is applied to the treatment region in a pulse-like pattern.

How long does it take?

Thermage FLX sessions can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your specific needs (area(s) treated, location).

What are the Side effects?

The majority of patients have minimal to no side effects and are able to resume their normal activities almost immediately. Minor swelling or redness may occur on occasion, but this usually goes away within 24 hours. If you see anything strange or have any concerns after your surgery, contact your dermatologist right away.
